Wireless systems are easier to install and can be moved if you relocate, while wired systems are generally more reliable and don't rely on batteries.

This depends on:
1. The resolution of the security cameras/devices;
2. How often do you want recordings to be taken (e.g. when a security event occurs, or recording all the time?), and how long you want the recordings to be available to you before they are deleted;
3. Whether you want to store the recordings in a physical hard drive, or have them stored in Cloud storage;

This depends on the manufacturer and the store the devices are purchased from. We advise reading the Terms & Conditions of your product warranties thoroughly. Outdoor weather damage to your camera devices for example may not be included, which means you might want to think about their positioning when they are installed.

Colour cameras have decreased in price significantly over the years and may be just as affordable. In addition to cost, we advise thinking about low-light/night-time capabilities too. Some cameras are connected with lights which turn on at night to lighten up the surroundings before taking photos, enabling easier identification of trespassers.

This depends on many factors. Having a wired CCTV security system professionally installed in a property with 4 outdoor colour cameras and a 6TB hard disk costed a customer approximately £1600 in 2020. DIY wireless security systems are often much cheaper.
